Who here has a lovebird?
I wanna get one when I sell my two rodents (rabbit and guinea pig)
I have 3 cockatiels now and love them to death they have the personality ever! But what do you think of lovebirds?
Should I go for one or not?
If I get one I wanna get a masked one.
IF you get one, go for a hand fed bird from a breeder, NOT a petstore bird. A well socialized lovebird can be a blast. They’re very smart, inquisitive, and goofy as can be. No matter what you’re doing they want to be in the middle of it. This can be good and bad as they’re nosy and not usually afraid of anything, which can get them into some interesting situations.
If you go to a good breeder, you won’t be sorry you got a lovebird.

I have had 2. One was very sweet and one was mean as snot.
Also, my understanding is that the masked ones tend to be a little snippier than some of the other varieties.
If you want one - make sure you can spend time with it everyday. That will help keep him/her sweet.
