If you saw a male friend 2 months after he got married dolled up as a saloon girl at a costume party wouldn’t?
it give you the impression that he isn't wearing the pants in the family?
My new wife thinks this would be so funny, because the last time we saw these people she was at the wedding where she was in a long dress and I was in pants. She wants to be the sheriff!
What will people think, say, or do?
Hi Dave. To begin with, let’s assume that this male friend is "straight". After all, he did marry a woman right? The fact that he dressed up a saloon girl and the wife a sheriff, I think that is GREAT, original and shows that this couple has great humor! In my opinion, this shows a guy that is really open to ideas that his wife has without feeling intimidated or concerned about what others may think. And in all honesty, ONLY a man who is totally secure with his masculinity would feel confident enough to dress up as a ‘gal’. My brother-in-law is totally straight and a very manly. However, for Halloween one year, he and his entire male band dressed up as rocker chicks! They wore pantie hose, heals, you name it, even make-up. They were a big hit that night at the bar (while they performed.) No one questioned their man-hood. Unless this friend of yours makes it a habit to dress in women’s clothing, you have nothing to worry about. Take it as a great sense of humor and as a man who is willing to let his wife "wear the pants" for a night.
Assuming he doesn’t dress as a woman normally, I’d say he just dressed up a saloon girl for a joke. After all, it’s a costume party, and thus people tend to dress differently than normal. Makes sense to me.
